Positions in the Media Lab
Director
The director is in charge of making sure the show runs smoothly and that everyone is doing what they're supposed to be doing.


Assistant Director
The assistant director is in charge of keeping time during the show, making sure every position is filled, and making sure everyone turns in their scripts and packages.
Show Producer
The show producer is in charge of finding people to interview on the show, contacting them, and coming up with questions to ask them.


Audio Engineer
The audio engineer is in charge of making sure all of the audio sounds good. This involves the sound for pre-recorded videos and the sound for the anchors and hosts.
Field Producer
A field producer creates content outside of the studio called packages. These packages air on the show.


News Producer
The news producer searches for and writes stories about things happening in the news. These stories are read by the news anchors during the weekly show.
Sports Producer
The sports producer searches for and writes stories about things happening in sports. These stories are read by the sports anchors during the weekly show.


Entertainment Producer
The entertainment producer searches for and writes stories about things happening in the entertainment industry. These stories are read by the entertainment anchors during the weekly show.
Host
The hosts are the first and last people the audience sees, so their job is to make sure the audience is engaged early and wants to come back for more by making entertaining banter with each other.


News Anchor
The news anchors read the news scripts on air. At the end of the segment, there is a short amount of time to discuss the stories from that day with the other anchor.
Sports ANchor
The sports anchors read the sports scripts on air. At the end of the segment, there is a short amount of time to discuss the stories from that day with the other anchor.


Entertainment Anchor
The entertainment anchors read the entertainment scripts on air. At the end of the segment, there is a short amount of time to discuss the stories from that day with the other anchor.
Floor Manager
The floor manager makes sure everything on the floor runs smoothly. This person gives direction to the hosts, anchors, and camera operators so that everyone is doing the rights things.



Camera Operator
The camera operators make sure that the camera shots look good during filming. They also move the cameras around if needed.
Video 1
The person in charge of video 1 makes sure that all the video openings for each segment play at the right times.


Technical Director
The technical director is in charge of switching between which camera is recording at which time. The TD does this from the booth.
Graphics
The person in charge of graphics makes sure that the pictures and graphics that go with each segment appear on screen at the right times.


Teleprompter
This person makes sure the teleprompter is moving at the correct speed for the anchors to read off of it.
